Nottingham  City  Motors (NCM)

We were originally set up by a charity in 2009, the project was set up to cater for the needs and aspirations of young people who wanted to work in the motoring industry. This was an extention of the charity's work who specialised in working with young people, including providing supported accommodation and other services to vulnerable young people and those leaving Local Authority Care.

The charity was a proudly independent organisation who pride itself on being self funded, this meant that they could deliver services to young people without being restricted by external funders as is normally the case. As a consequence of this and due to the fact that the project became successful in helping young people gain experience in the motoring industry, the charity found it difficult to fund the service as well as providing the other services. A decision was taken by the Trustees of the charity in 2012 to find an appropriate partner to help manage the project.

 

Nottingham City Football Club agreed to jointly manage the project with the Charity and also provide its overall funding, the name was changed to Nottingham City Motors in 2012. Whilst the Charity provided support and accommodation to young people, the football club provided the funding and day-to-day management of the service. A property was acquired in 2015 and a planning application was made to the local authority for change of use and to develope the site, this was granted in October 2016.

 

The service have been expanding since then to offer more services as well as creating more training opportunities for young people, most of our sevices were introduced between January & September 2018. We are a not-for-profit community organisation based on collective ideas, good values, principles and ethics.

 

Our aim is to provide training opportunities for young people in the motoring industry, to offer good quality vehicles for sale, as well as other quality products and a first class service to all our costumers. We source our vehicles from all over the Country, all our vehicles are HPI checked, they all have part or full service history, a maximum of 3 owners and at least 6 months MOT.
